Vision Testing

Eye examinations carried out will provide a full assessment of the refractive state and ocular heath of your eyes

and will include where appropriate:

determining what prescription lenses you may need
advice on appropriate types of lenses and frames
the fitting and training for successful contact lens wear
an assessment of the general health of your eyes with advice and referrals if necessary
in particular screening for problems such as glaucoma, cataract, diabetes will be provided
check your vision for drivers license requirements
examinations that cover specific occupations can be provided, such as VDU workers, marine worker applicants, police applicants etc.

Geoff Sargent was one of the first group of optometrists in NZ to complete post graduate studies and achieve the Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics qualification. This means he is able to prescribe such things as ocular antibiotic and anti inflamatories where appropriate. Marama Lambert and Jacinda Wong have also gained this same qualification.
